Vacation apartments
Raid on Ibiza due to illegal vacation rentals by apartment owners.
As we already informed you in detail on 28.05.2018 – What is legal and what is (currently) illegal? – Until the legal situation in the Balearic Islands is clarified, renting out vacation apartments without a license is still illegal and will be severely punished.
The first “successful” raid to check vacation apartments has already been carried out in the current 2018 season.
And this will probably not be the last!
Penalties of up to 40,000 euros await apartment owners.
And for tourists, the vacation is also over, unless there is still vacation money left for a hotel or a finca/villa (available at short notice) with a tourist license.
That is why we continue to advise you:
Please refrain from renting tourist apartments in apartment complexes etc. until the legal situation has been clarified.
Only rent a vacation apartment outside of hostals, hotels, fincas and villas if you have an explicit tourist license.
Ask to see this license!
